QA

The checks a video must pass before the dashboard marks it ready.

Last updated:

The worker runs these checks on the file it just wrote. A failed check keeps the job in failed with the report attached. The dashboard does not offer that file as the deliverable.

File#

  • ffprobe reads a video stream and, when the brief asked for sound, an audio stream
  • Duration is within 0.5 seconds of the plan
  • Width and height match the brief
  • Pixel format is yuv420p
  • The moov atom is at the front (+faststart) so playback can start before the full download

Sound#

When the plan has a voice:

  • Integrated loudness is within 2 LU of -14 LUFS
  • True peak is at or below -1.5 dBTP
  • The voice is not clipped at the sample peaks of the mix

A silent motion piece skips the loudness check and must have no audio stream, or a stream that is actually silent. It must not ship a forgotten music bed.

Captions#

When the plan has words on screen:

  • A caption file exists and its last cue ends before the video ends
  • The burned-in captions match that file for the styles that burn them in

Facts#

When the brief has must-keep facts, the script stored in the sidecar still contains each fact. The worker does not judge taste. It checks that a required sentence was not dropped.
